What are our Campaigning Groups?
In line with our values and mission, we are committed to standing side by side with people who are vision impaired, ensuring that their voices are heard in order to support wider positive change.
We are keen to learn and understand more about the difficulties and challenges people with vision impairments encounter so that we can work out together what we can do as a collective to improve things.
This, in combination with our mission to raise awareness of vision impairment, leads us to work together to change things locally and challenge things nationally. We meet bimonthly and we love to hear what’s bothering you so we can find creative ways to be able to move things forward.
We call our Campaign Groups VI Voices
The groups are supported by Vision Support and they run to help us understand the issues and come together to think about what we can do to address them. Topics of discussion have been more inclusive health care, accessibility around Wrexham town centre, and inaccessibility of public transport. We will also invite people from the Local Authority, the NHS or the council to come and listen to the group explain their difficulties.
We strive to challenge and be critical in a productive and supportive manner to help to influence change in partnership.

Some Kind Words About Our Services
“Many thanks indeed, you’ve gone above and beyond, and I much appreciate your support and help. I’m delighted to have finally received my long-awaited Tax Rebate – I feel it has only happened, thanks to your persistence and determination. I will look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Thanks again for all your help, it certainly is appreciated by both Stanley the Guide Dog and me.”
“I really appreciate the visits and the support I’ve been getting. It’s so nice to have someone to talk to and feel like I’m not alone. Their efforts and company mean so much to me. I even decided to make a donation to Vision Support as a way of saying thank you for everything they’ve done.”
“I can’t say enough how much it means to me to have someone who can help me. I have trouble with phone calls because of my hearing and sight, but they help me with calling the hospital, booking transport and setting up appointments. I’m so grateful for their support.”
“I’ve been thinking for a while about moving in with family as I’m not as steady on my feet as I used to be. When I found out where I’m moving is still within the coverage area, I was thrilled! It’s such a relief to know that I’ll still have someone familiar visiting me after I move.”
