We’re always proud of the work we do at Vision Support and it means so much when others take the time to share and celebrate it too. Recently, we’ve been lucky to be featured in some brilliant online and print publications that truly capture the heart of our mission: supporting people with vision impairments to live confidently, to feel capable and connected to their communities.

Whether it’s a deep dive into creative workshops, a look at our outreach in Wrexham, or heart warming personal stories from our team, these features help us reach more people, build awareness, and encourage others to get involved.

Shining a Light on Vision Support in Wrexham  A red logo on a black background featuring a stylised castle tower beside a Welsh dragon. Below the graphic, the words “Visit Wrexham” are written in bold red text.

We were honoured to be featured in Visit Wrexham’s community blog, where our work across the region was recognised for its vital role in supporting those with vision impairments.

The article highlights the wide range of services we provide from digital skills and welfare advice to men’s mental health support, social groups, and befriending services. It beautifully reflects the community-based ethos that underpins everything we do.

It also acknowledges our fundraising efforts and a big milestone ahead our 150th anniversary in 2026. We’re incredibly grateful to the team at Visit Wrexham for shining a light on our impact and sharing it with their audience.

Creativity and Confidence Through Sensory Art Radiate Arts logo in white, featuring a circular sun-like shape made of triangular rays arranged around a hollow centre. The words “Radiate Arts” are written below the symbol in bold white text on a bright yellow background.

Our recent collaboration with Radiate Arts was celebrated in their wonderful piece, “Low Vision, Creativity and Sensory Art”, which explored the power of multi-sensory creative workshops for people living with vision impairments.

The article captures how these tactile, inclusive sessions not only offer a space for self-expression and creativity but also help reduce isolation and boost confidence. The feedback from participants was inspiring—and we’re so grateful to Radiate Arts for showcasing their voices and experiences in such a thoughtful way.

What’s Coming Next A newspaper-style layout with a large headline in purple stating, “They can barely see, but great-great gran Jean and Tony have a charity target in their sights.” Below the headline is a photo of two smiling older adults standing beside an indoor swimming pool. One person wears a purple Vision Support T-shirt with the charity’s logo. The article text surrounds the photo, discussing their long-distance charity swim and the support they receive for sight loss.

It’s not just online where our work is being recognised. We’ve also been featured in some fantastic print publications such as Our Town Northwich, celebrating the wonderful Jean and Tonys sponsored swim for us and helping us reach even wider audiences with our message.

Coming soon, Helen, our Financial Wellbeing and Benefits Officer, will be featured in a heart warming and in-depth article in Rarity Life magazine. Helen’s piece will share insights from her lived experience with vision impairment and her work supporting others to access the benefits and financial guidance they need.

You’ll be able to read Helen’s story when the next issue is released and you can sign up for free to receive Rarity Life at: www.samebutdifferentcic.org.uk/raritylife
